Negotiation Skills That Actually Work in Real Business

Most negotiation training focuses on theory. We teach you what happens when someone challenges your proposal at 4pm on a Friday, or when a contract discussion suddenly shifts mid-conversation. Real scenarios from actual Australian businesses.

Built From Observing What Works in Canberra Boardrooms

After spending years consulting with businesses across the ACT region, I noticed something. The negotiation tactics that looked brilliant in textbooks often fell apart when someone threw an unexpected objection into the mix.

So we built a training approach that starts with discomfort. You'll practice handling the moments when negotiations go sideways, when budgets shift, when stakeholders change their minds halfway through. Because that's what actually happens.

  • Practice sessions based on documented real negotiation challenges from Australian businesses
  • Techniques for reading subtle signals when someone isn't fully committed
  • Response frameworks for when negotiations stall or take unexpected turns
  • Cultural considerations specific to Australian business communication styles

Negotiation Is Pattern Recognition

The more conversations you analyze, the faster you spot when someone's hesitating, when they're testing your limits, or when they're genuinely considering your proposal. Our programs give you enough reps to recognize these patterns before they determine the outcome.

Small Group Format

Sessions limited to eight participants so you can actually practice speaking and get immediate feedback on your approach.

Industry Context

Scenarios drawn from sectors you actually work in, not generic business situations that feel artificial.

Ongoing Access

After completion, you can attend quarterly review sessions to refine techniques as your career evolves.

Who Develops This Training

Bronwyn Kessler

Bronwyn Kessler

Lead Instructor

Spent twelve years negotiating public sector contracts before realizing she enjoyed teaching the process more than executing it. Now runs workshops where people learn by doing, not by listening to lectures.

Silje Dahlberg

Scenario Designer

Designs the practice scenarios participants work through during sessions. Pulls from documented cases where negotiations succeeded or failed, then rebuilds them as training exercises with all the messy variables intact.

How Sessions Work

1

Context Setting

First hour covers the specific industry scenario you'll be working with, including all the stakeholder dynamics and constraints at play.

2

Practice Rounds

You'll run through three separate negotiation attempts with different approaches, getting direct feedback after each round on what shifted the conversation.

3

Pattern Analysis

Final session breaks down what techniques actually moved things forward across all participants, and which common approaches consistently stalled progress.
